Dear All,
Today marks the 10th week since we at Paint Layers made the decision to cease operations. As we have previously stated this was not an easy decision to make, however it was the right one.
We appreciate that those loyal customers who had booked with us prior to the pandemic have been very patient and understanding and I hope you can continue to be patient with us for a little while longer.
As of Wednesday the 14th of May, advice from our Government and Public Health England is that all trades or those people entering homes should risk assess each job and determine if it is deemed essential.
Current advice is that painting interiors falls into the nonessential category of works. Within this , PHE and the government also advise no work should be conducted in homes that are occupied by the over 65’s and those who are shielding. However this does not exclude exterior works where the risks can be easily managed.
After careful consideration, we have decided to open and begin to take bookings again as of the 15th of June in a phased safe manner. Our intention is to reorganise our current work load so exterior works are conducted initially and interior work will follow as further easing and medical advice allows.
All pre-existing works are currently being risk assessed and those customers will be updated shortly. We understand this is frustrating, and our decision does mean that we may have to postpone your painting and decorating needs to later in the year when infection/death rates have further declined and government legislation has been updated.
We hope all our customers will stick with us during this period and I can assure you will be working extremely hard to ease our backlog as quickly and safely as possible.
Please keep visiting our website and social media platforms for any updates on the situation and we will be contacting those of you with current bookings with revised dates as soon as we can. If you no longer need our services please let us know as soon as you can so we organise the other jobs in our backlog.
This phased approach will hopefully allow us to resume “normal” activities once the virus has been defeated and we can ensure the safety of everyone.
I would also like to announce that Paint Layers can now offer a furniture renovation service. So if you have tired old furniture needing a little TLC please get in contact.
To all , take care of yourselves, your loved ones and your communities
Kind Regards
Simon Merton -Paint Layers
